Victoria secret delivery package5/7/2023 Once the program finished, I felt so great that I wanted to continue eating fresh, whole foods to keep me glowing from the inside out-up until my wedding day. They really couldn’t have made it any easier. Each box came to my doorstep refrigerated and in perfect condition, and the meals were clearly labeled with information on when to eat it and how to prepare it. I decided to have meals delivered every Sunday and Wednesday evenings. This way, your body has time to adjust to a new way of eating, (at least, eating this many vegetables in a day was new for me). I suggest joining Sakara Life before your wedding, when the planning stage is at its peak. As the day drew closer, the Sakara Life meal program really came in handy-if you’re a past or upcoming bride, you can probably relate to food being the last thing I had time to think about each day, let alone something remotely healthy. You also get one month of unlimited access to founder Erika Bloom’s “transformational movements” (kind of like yoga), and meditations.Īlthough I described our wedding as “casual” and “simple,” the planning and stress surrounding the event felt like anything but that. The program is designed to give you a full body reset before your big day: all meals are designed to help de-bloat, clear up your skin, increase energy levels, and improve your mood. Every meal highlights a different superfood (including some I never even knew existed). The delivery includes a full breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert to consume each weekday. When I was approached about trying out the brand’s Bridal Package before my September wedding, I couldn’t have said yes quicker.Īs part of the bridal program, you receive a month’s worth of Sakara’s signature nutrition program, which is delivered to your door weekly. I’ve just been too broke to afford any of their meal delivery services.

Everspace 2 edge of the universe5/6/2023 Each enemy ship type has specific offensive and defensive behaviors. I was surprised to see a great deal of complexity in enemy behavior this early in development. Of course, that doesn’t take into account any dangers you might encounter on your way to the mission, so plan accordingly. Once you zip past the tutorial sections of the game you’ll find missions in all directions, and each one is ranked based on risk and reward. Being flanked from all directions while a larger corvette cuts you to ribbons if you stray too close can make an otherwise easy combat end decisively. Facing off against a single enemy isn’t that much of a threat, most of the time, but foes tend to travel in packs. Rockfish clearly spent their time making sure the controls in Everspace 2 were right and tight for Early Access.Ĭombat in Everspace 2 is a brutal and high-speed affair. Lining up a shot and squeezing off rounds with my autocannon only to finish an enemy off with a dumbfire missile as we hurtle towards one another in head-to-head combat is never going to get old. Jamming the throttle forward and watching my ship roar to life, whipping around and through asteroid fields and ship debris is fantastic with a HOTAS setup. At the start of Early Access there are only the 10 most popular HOTAS setups, including my own, a Logitech G X56, with more coming as development progresses. All that said, the absolute best and most immersive experience comes from hooking up a Hand On Throttle And Stick, or HOTAS controller. Switching to a controller is a good middle ground, providing precision controls via the analog sticks, bumpers, and triggers for a more immersive feel. Mouse and keyboard controls feel very responsive, allowing you to strafe, dodge, roll, and otherwise gun your way to victory. One of the best things about Everspace 2 is its controls. Most of your time is spent in the cockpit, but these do a great job of making you care about what’s happening in between dogfights. Between missions, you’ll frequently get cutscenes that expand on the story in a moving comics sort of way. Check out the videos for a spoiler-free look at them for yourself. All of the ships and stations are highly detailed, with the explosions and particle effects being a real high point. It seems like Rockfish is giving us near-final art assets already, and they are slick. You’ll even meet some friends along the way. Each path is viable, and all of them help push the single-player narrative forward. There are several core elements that quickly emerge in Everspace 2: exploration, mining, building your ship, solving environmental puzzles, taking down pirates and snagging their ill-gotten gains, or even becoming a pirate yourself. How you get that done, however, is up to you. As you can see in the first 15+ minutes of the game, you find yourself on the ragged edge of the universe having to rebuild your ship, base, and resources while on the run. If you enjoyed Wing Commander: Privateer and Privateer 2: The Darkening, you might find yourself simply drifting around hunting down pirates and scoring resources - this game is already hitting all the right notes, and being an open world, the choice is yours.Īt its heart, Everspace 2 is an open world looter-shooter RPG, and there are plenty of core elements to back up my claim. In point of fact, there are easily two dozen hours of gameplay offered here. On January 18th, Everspace 2 will come to Early Access, but don’t let that give you the impression that it’s a collection of early concepts without a focus. I’ve recently gotten my hands on a pre-Early Access version of the game and am happy to report that, with more than a year’s development ahead of the Rockfish Games team, Everspace 2 is already shaping up to be exactly what I hoped it could be. Sequel to Everspace, obviously, this one looks to take a completely fresh vector for the series, moving away from the roguelike approach of its predecessor and towards a single-player story-driven experience. As we move into a second space game renaissance, we’ve finally gotten our hands on one of my most anticipated: Everspace 2. It was soon after that the darkness came, bringing multiplayer-focused games devoid of story and game companies declared that “nobody was interested in space games.” Well, they couldn’t be more wrong. Once upon a time, in a galaxy not that far away, space games were prevalent, and life was good. Spirit of the north fox5/6/2023 Exploration will grant you more knowledge of the world, allowing for a version of what has happened and the connection to the spirit world to be pieced together. Should you choose to undertake these literal fetch quests there is some pay off towards the end of the game, although it’s not very substantial. Rearming Shamans with their tools is one of a few things that divert attention from the game’s critical path. Its puzzles are elementary, rendering the majority of the game entirely linear, exploration feels optional at best and an unrewarding afterthought at worst. Ultimately, there’s just not enough substance for the game to hold your attention for its six-plus hour runtime. It’s often said that it’s better to show than tell, but Spirit of the North does very little of either. Unfortunately, every optional reunion after that felt the same until I began to simply ignore them. The first time I reunited a fallen Shaman with his staff felt meaningful. It’s all very minimalist and whilst I managed to piece together that something catastrophic had happened, my place in the world and a lot of the reason I was restoring parts of it felt unexplained to the point of disinterest. Whether that's a forgotten ruin, the remains of former inhabitants, or an image carved into a rock. One of the game’s few narrative devices, it did a really good job of guiding me through each area and complementing each moment.Īside from the soundtrack, the story is borne from the environment itself. However, it also wasn’t scared of ramping things up when called upon or stirring up emotions when the story called for it. The soothing twinkle of piano complemented calmer moments, gently asking me to take in my surroundings and slow down the pace. A beautiful orchestral score follows the player throughout the game and never gets old. One area where Spirit of the North does shine, however, is its soundtrack. There are moments here - trampling through snow, sliding on sheets of ice, getting stuck in tar - that would have felt much better had the tech been implemented. After all, it’s early days yet and it’s easy to give Infuse Studio the benefit of the doubt and say they didn’t have time. Now, I’m not knocking the game too much for this. Similarly disappointing, although to a lesser degree, is a lack of implementation of the DualSense controller. There is some nice work done with light and shadows, particularly given that there’s plenty of spiritual glowing going on, but to put such a thing on a podium when the fundamentals are lacking seems trivial. It can look good in motion too but, whilst environments can often be sped through, stopping to explore only serves to highlight more of the game’s glaring issues. The game’s landscapes can appear beautiful at first, but on closer inspection they just don’t hold up. Spirit of the North has Very Positive reviews and it usually costs $16.79 but you can get it for free this week only at Epic Games.I wasn’t expecting Spirit of the North to be a graphical powerhouse by any means but, this being the ‘Enhanced Edition’ of the game, it did very little to take advantage of the power of the PlayStation 5. As you journey over the mountains and under red-stained skies, you’ll discover more about your companion and land left in ruin. Play as an ordinary red fox whose story becomes entwined with the guardian of the Northern Lights, a magical spirit fox. The story takes root from various pieces of Nordic folklore. Arkansas weather live radar5/6/2023 He asked: “Why are representatives of Russia still among you? What are they doing at UNESCO?” Zelenskyy said 540 “objects of cultural heritage, cultural institutions and religious buildings” in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed since Russia invaded Feb. In a speech Tuesday to UNESCO, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also announced that Ukraine has nominated the embattled Black Sea city of Odesa to be inscribed on the agency’s World Heritage list. The burial site was the second found in Lyman so far, Kyrylenko said, adding that initial investigations suggested the bodies had been buried by local residents and not by Russians. The bodies were Ukrainian soldiers who had been buried together in a mass grave, the head of the Donetsk region’s military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, said in Lyman on Tuesday.Īnother 22 civilians have been exhumed from individual graves at the burial site, located on the edge of a cemetery in a forested area on the outskirts of Lyman. Ten body bags lay beside a roughly 100-foot (30-meter) trench from which authorities said 32 bodies have been exhumed so far in the city in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region. It was part of an arduous effort to piece together evidence of what happened under more than four months of Russian occupation. Since hail can cause the rainfall estimates to be higher than what is actually occurring, steps are taken to prevent these high dBZ values from being converted to rainfall.LYMAN, Ukraine - Covered head-to-toe in protective suits, forensic workers pulled several bodies wrapped in black plastic from a mass grave Tuesday in Ukraine’s devastated city of Lyman. Hail is a good reflector of energy and will return very high dBZ values. These values are estimates of the rainfall per hour, updated each volume scan, with rainfall accumulated over time. Depending on the type of weather occurring and the area of the U.S., forecasters use a set of rainrates which are associated to the dBZ values. The higher the dBZ, the stronger the rainrate. Typically, light rain is occurring when the dBZ value reaches 20. The scale of dBZ values is also related to the intensity of rainfall. The value of the dBZ depends upon the mode the radar is in at the time the image was created. Notice the color on each scale remains the same in both operational modes, only the values change. The other scale (near left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in precipitation mode (dBZ values from 5 to 75). One scale (far left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in clear air mode (dBZ values from -28 to +28). Each reflectivity image you see includes one of two color scales. The dBZ values increase as the strength of the signal returned to the radar increases. So, a more convenient number for calculations and comparison, a decibel (or logarithmic) scale (dBZ), is used. Reflectivity (designated by the letter Z) covers a wide range of signals (from very weak to very strong). "Reflectivity" is the amount of transmitted power returned to the radar receiver. The colors are the different echo intensities (reflectivity) measured in dBZ (decibels of Z) during each elevation scan. Best ticktick guide5/6/2023 Miranda doesn’t let the film sink into melancholy-Larson’s songwriting is too brassy and bold for that-but he provides more than a bit of Broadway sentimentality, a nod to the place Larson now holds in the industry’s hall of fame. Whereas the original 1990 production of Tick, Tick … Boom was made by someone screaming for attention, this adaptation can acknowledge the tragic reality that Larson was right to fear the ticking clock. Miranda and the writer Steven Levenson recognize how off-putting a creative personality like Larson can be, but they also have the hindsight to know that he really was a major talent. The protagonist sometimes showers his best friend, Michael (Robin de Jesús), and his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Susan (Alexandra Shipp), with affection, but other times he is lost in his imagination, ignoring every responsibility as he struggles to fine-tune the musical he thinks could be his magnum opus. Garfield’s performance is remarkably attuned and leans into the way Larson’s self-assured enthusiasm could overwhelm and annoy. Read: How Lin-Manuel Miranda shapes history But he then dramatizes the songs properly, delving into Larson’s life in SoHo and his travails in friendship and romance as he struggles to get Superbia noticed by Broadway honchos. Miranda initially retains the theatrical setting, starting the action on a stage where the fictional Larson and two singers (Vanessa Hudgens and Joshua Henry) are performing. Larson originally performed the show by himself, sitting at a piano after his death, it was reworked into a three-actor musical, which helped distribute the burden of his complex compositions. But Tick, Tick … Boom is by far the most challenging project he’s tackled, given that the material is inherently stage-bound. Following that show’s runaway success, Miranda has worked on several animated movies, acted in Mary Poppins Returns, and helped shepherd a film adaptation of In the Heights. It’s also the best thing Miranda’s made since Hamilton. In doing so, he has turned Larson’s small-scale show into an inventive piece of cinematic biography, retaining the musical’s spirit and songs but successfully expanding the storytelling scope to fit the big screen. Understandably, then, in his filmmaking debut Miranda has zeroed in on another figure overflowing with ambition and creative passion. He produced his first musical, In the Heights, on Broadway at the age of 28 before experiencing colossal success with Hamilton, a show about a Founding Father who, according to Miranda’s lyrics, also wrote like he was running out of time. Miranda is, after all, something of a Broadway prodigy himself. Miranda understands the bittersweet tinge to Larson leaving behind an autobiographical show that tracks his anxiety about growing up. Larson’s next big success was the rock musical Rent, a show that changed the course of Broadway, but he never got to see it: He died of an aortic aneurysm at age 35 the night before Rent’s first performance. Larson, however, actually was running out of time, as the film adaptation, directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and starring Andrew Garfield, notes in a touching prologue. Tick, Tick … Boom is an exciting, sometimes angry, but winningly self-aware examination, a cri de coeur that feels like the announcement of a thrilling new talent, even one who fears that he’s already over the hill. Larson wrote the show, which he initially performed as a sung-through monologue in 1990, as a response to his failure to produce an ambitious musical titled Superbia. The song, and Tick, Tick … Boom in general, is layered with retrospective irony. Meanwhile, Larson is still toiling in obscurity, living in an unheated loft in early-’90s New York and trying to break through in the world of theater. As he hammers away at a piano, Larson notes that his idol, the composer Stephen Sondheim, contributed to his first Broadway show at the age of 27. That’s the underlying message of “30/90,” the first song in his original musical Tick, Tick … Boom and an energized ballad about the theatrical composer’s worries that he hasn’t accomplished enough-at the age of 30. Jonathan Larson is someone who writes like he is running out of time. Panzer corps 2 hero tier list5/6/2023 Each new mission grants a hero that can be assigned to.
